Facilitated Unmasking Group

My name is Jenny Epstein Kessem, and I am a licensed psychotherapist with a focus on mindfulness and body-centered psychotherapy.

I offer Relational Unmasking groups as a safe place for adults to explore unmasking as it relates to sensory needs, communication, attentional preferences, emotions, self expression, self acceptance, self advocacy, boundaries, freedom and safety and more.

Our next groups will be for women and gender non-conforming adults. We will meet for 4 consecutive weeks starting on the week of September 2. The virtual option will be on Wednesdays from 4pm-5:30pm, and the in person option will be on Fridays from 4pm-5:30pm. Total cost is $300, though I do offer a sliding scale,

If you are interested, please email me at (jenny[at]greatblueheron[dot]org).

Community Unmasking Group

Thursdays, from 12:15pm-1:15pm: This community support group is for adults who have recently identified as autistic or are exploring the possibility.

The group will provide a safe space to talk about how that reflective process has impacted our self-perception, including the concept of masking and what it might mean to unmask.

We will also talk about how these identity shifts might impact the ways we navigate the world and our relationships so that our lived experiences are more aligned with ourselves and our individual needs.

Mindfulness Series: Sound Bath

First Thursdays of the Month, from 6:30pm-7:30pm: Join us for a chakra focused sound bath experience with Renee at the NCC.

The singing bowls and chimes create vibrations that resonate with the body’s energy centers, helping to clear blockages and restore energy flow.

The sound bath will last 40 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of integration.

Please drink plenty of water beforehand and come wearing comfortable clothing. You may also bring a yoga mat, blanket and pillow for comfort. Note: this experience is not suitable for those with pacemakers or any other device / implant that can be affected by sound or vibration.

Mindfulness Series: Meditation

****First Saturdays of the Month, from 1:15pm-2:15pm: Join us to discuss queer and/or neurodivergent stories you’ve been reading (with the guidance of a moderator).

Rather than choosing a single book, the discussion will focus around a common theme and each person may contribute thoughts on the chosen theme from their preferred story.

Open to teenage and adult readers. All stories welcome, including those by unpublished or independently published writers.

Mindfulness Series: [Movement??]

****Third Saturdays of the Month, from 1:15pm-2:15pm: Join us to discuss the queer and/or neurodivergent themed stories you’ve been writing (with the guidance of a moderator).

Share potential ideas, new formats, or plot points - whatever you’ve been exploring lately. Note: our intention is to offer queer and/or neurodivergent writers an opportunity for discussion, not necessarily a working group.

Open to teen and adult writers of all experience levels and all genres.

Neurodiversity in Education

First Wednesdays of the Month, from 6:30pm-8:30pm: Neurodiversity in the classroom is not just about offering students a safe environment to learn, but also offering educators a safe space to be themselves. Unfortunately, that is not the reality in many schools.

If you work in the education space and are looking for a safe space to be yourself and to explore topics relating to neurodiversity, then this is your group. We won’t be solving all the problems with the education system, but we will be creating community. We hope you’ll join us.

This group is sponsored by SoulSpark Learning.

Therapists and Healers Group

Second Mondays of the Month, from 6:30pm-8:30pm: Many of us are givers. And thank goodness, because there surely is a lot of need out there.

And also we need to fill our own cups too.

This group is intended to offer a safe space for those who offer therapy/healing/support to the community, and who also connect with neurodiversity personally and/or professionally themselves, to get together, find connection, and just feel good.

Coffee with Inclusion

First Wednesdays of the Month, from 10:15am-11:45am: Inclusion on Purpose seeks to break down barriers faced by neurodivergent people, connect marginalized people to the broader community, and cultivate micro-communities grounded in belonging and purpose. We build bridges, opportunity, and hope for a future where all are welcome. Join us for inclusive conversation on topics of neurodivergence, community, friendship, and identity.

ASBC Adult Support Group

Second Wednesdays of the Month, from 6:30pm-8:30pm: Join us to discuss life events and topics related to Autism in a safe and understanding environment. This group is for Autistic people age 25 and up. (Note that this group is not meant to take the place of professional therapy). You can join us either in person or virtually.

Memory Care Social Group

Tuesdays, from 12:15pm-1:45pm: For anyone experiencing challenges with memory, as well as their care partners, join us for engaging opportunities in a safe space with other folks who share your experience. No expectations or pressure - just be yourselves.
